Court Use & Etiquette

Availability

With 3 hards courts and 3 grass courts available, there is invariably pressure on availability, especially during the summer leagues season.

Note that there is no formal court booking system so it is a question of turning up and assessing the situation. The leagues fixture list should be first consulted as this will dicate whther the courts are free for general use.

Tournament matches and coaching activities take precedence over social matches

Court Etiquette

The club rules provide details on court etiquette and expected codes of behaviour, for example regarding clothing, footwear and glass containers.See the Rules

Floodlights

To use the floodlights, you need to insert coins in the payment box in clubouse; It costs £1 per 30 minutes

Please do not use the floodlights after 10.00 pm

Clubhouse Access

You can purchase a swipe card to gain access to the clubhouse when it is not open. These can be obtained from the bar manager. You will also need to de-activate the alarm when first entering the club.

Grass Courts

The club has 3 grass courts, though not all may be available at one time due to a court rotation policy. The realistc use period is mid-May to September, though clearly this is very weather dependent.

Volunteers are welcome to help with general maintenance duties (weeding, cutting rolling etc)

Note that the grass courts must not be used before 10.30 am on most days and are not in use after rain until they have dried.

Appropriate footwear which is sympathetic to grass must be worn when using these courts.
